Christmas Competition Terms & Conditions
“SAFC” means Sunderland Association Football Club Limited; “the Winner” or “Winners” means the person or persons chosen as the winning entrant(s) in the competition; “the Promoter” means Sunderland Association Football Club Limited of The Stadium of Light, Sunderland, SR5 1SU.
2.1 The competition involves the chance to win a number of items listed on the participant’s ‘Christmas Letter’ (“the Competition”).
2.2 The participant must post their ‘Christmas Letter’ through the Christmas post box in the SAFC retail store at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland, or by signing up to the online form between 09.00 on 28 October 2017 and 17.00 on 15 December 2017.
2.3 Each ‘Christmas Letter’ must include the participant’s full name, address, and telephone number. Any entries which do not include this information will not be considered.
3.1 All entrants must be aged 16 (sixteen) years or under as at 31 October 2017. SAFC reserves the right to verify the age and eligibility of all entrants.
3.2 The Competition is open to residents of the UK and Ireland only. Immediate family members of SAFC employees and anyone connected to this Competition are not eligible to enter.
4 Rules to participate
4.1 Entries submitted before the opening date and time and/or after the closing date and time will not be considered.
4.2 Participants may only submit one entry for the Competition, but will not be restricted from entering any further competitions promoted by SAFC during the period of the campaign.
4.3 The Competition is free to enter and no purchase of any goods or services is necessary to be eligible for entry.
4.4 By entering into the Competition, all entrants consent to their name and image, and any quotes obtained from them utilising the Prize, appearing on the SAFC website www.safc.com, Facebook, Twitter feeds, and related media content. All entrants agree and accept that they may be required to participate in publicity relating to the Competition without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include publication of their names and photographs in any media.
5.1 The Winner(s) will each receive some or all of the items on their ‘Christmas Letter’ courtesy of SAFC, subject to a maximum cash value of £200.00 (two hundred pounds sterling) per entry (“the Prize”).
5.2 There are no alternatives to the Prize. The Prize is as stated and is non-exchangeable, non-transferrable, and no cash alternative is offered. If due to circumstances beyond the control of SAFC, SAFC is unable to provide the Prize, SAFC reserves the right at all times to substitute the Prize with another prize of similar value or carry the Prize forward to an alternative date suitable to SAFC.
5.3 SAFC shall not be liable to the Winner(s) in respect of any costs, time or energy expended in relation to the Competition.
6.1 The winning entries will be chosen by SAFC. The decision of SAFC regarding any aspect of the Competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
6.2 If the Winner(s) of the Prize cannot be traced after reasonable efforts have been made by SAFC, SAFC will be entitled to select an alternative Winner from the entries submitted.
6.3 Notification of the winning entries will be posted on www.safc.com, the official website of SAFC, and the official SAFC Twitter account, after the close of the Competition.
7. General Conditions
7.1 Any entry which does not comply with the rules may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of SAFC. SAFC is not responsible for misdirected, lost or unavailable entries.
7.2 Entrants should note that any entries containing abusive, racist or derogatory comments will be automatically withdrawn from the Competition.
7.3 By entering this Competition, all participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by any other requirements set out in the promotional material. SAFC reserves the right at any time to modify, amend, or discontinue, either temporarily or permanently, the Competition with or without prior notice. SAFC reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the Prize, to any participant who acts in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
7.4 SAFC shall not be liable if the Competition is postponed or cancelled, or where any failure to comply with its obligations is caused by something which is outside its reasonable control, including, but without limitation, any inclement weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, act of terrorism, strike, industrial action, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion or any government legislation.
8. Data protection
8.1 In order to participate in the Competition, participants must provide certain personal information. This personal information is collected and processed for the purposes of organising, running and monitoring the campaign, as well as for carrying out publicity activities in relation to it.
8.2 SAFC shall be considered the data controller for the database containing this personal information.
8.3 By entering the Competition, you agree that SAFC may use your data for promotional purposes. SAFC will not pass your data to any third parties.
This Competition and the rules are governed by English Law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
